"A Day in the World"

On May 15, Photographers all over the globe will take part in the single biggest documentary photo project ever!  I would like to invite all of you to be a part of history.  This project was started by a Swedish-based non profit foundation called Expressions of Humankind.  It (the project) seeks to document the differences in life as we know it today, all over the world.  Talk about getting a little perspective!  I think it will be very inspiring to see how the rest of the world lives and how we can continue to grow together in human likeness despite our vast cultural differences.   Its founder, Swedish photographer Jeppe Wikstrom, sees it as the antidote to the countless barrage of celebrity and natural disaster photo's that continue to shape the "virtual" world that we live in today.  Now it is our chance to show the media what life is REALLY like and to let the rest of the world know that our reality is full of everyday people doing everyday things.  Participants will be encouraged to tie their photos to three broad themes:  home, work, and connections.  Each theme contains subcategories to further categorize your work.  You can register in advance at www.aday.org .  Each photographer will be able to submit 10 photos in whatever category they wish.  This is a rare opportunity to come together as visual artists and share "life" as we know it, not as the media sells it to us.  I am looking forward to seeing your work soon.

Here are a few "possible" entries:
