Wedding Day Dreams. . .

Today I was thrown into the future.  My daughter made her first Holy Communion in church.  As I stooped down to take her picture, and looked through the camera, I saw a beautiful bride staring back at me... only this time, it wasn't a client's wedding;  it was my baby girl! Her beauty filled the room and although it was just the two of us, I admit I had to hold back the tears as she stared into the camera... when I finished taking the shot and lowered the camera, there was my little girl again, ready to go to church.  Well Gracie, someday I hope to walk you down the aisle, and on that day, I won't hold back the tears....

An Invitation to Hang. . .

I'd like to take a few seconds to share with you a terrific opportunity to be a part of photographic history.  Please visit www.invitationtohang.com and have a look at what may turn out to be the largest compilation of snapshots the world has ever assembled.  And I mean literally the world...  this is a project taken on by photographer Chase Jarvis.  Click here to read all about it and if you are moved to do so, submit some of your snapshots too... if you do choose to submit some, drop me a line and let me know, I'd love to see your work posted with mine.... and of course the rest of the worlds...

Here are just a few of the many I have submitted....

Mothers, Mothers, Everywhere. . .

As a child, my mother was the most important figure in my life.  She was a "homemaker".  Today, that term has become something of the past.  For those of you not familiar, a homemaker is the following:
a cook, a house keeper, a chauffeur, a teacher, a doctor, a nurse, a tailor, a hairdresser, a mechanic, a personal trainer, a personal assistant, a builder, a vet, and  everything in between... She works tirelessly through the day and night all for the low low price of .... $0.  And it all begins when she says "yes" to life and carries you in her womb.  Her blood is your blood, her body forms your body, and she will forever be a part of you, like it or not.  Your mother is an extension of you and vice versa. I'd like to take this time to thank all the mothers in the world for their life of dedication and service to their families. Thanks Mom for being you. . .

Here is my mother with my daughter at the Lake... Summer 2007.  It is one of my favorite pictures.

I JUST LOVE MY RED SHINY SHOES . . .

This is a clip of Charlie and his little sister Lola. . .  The are the latest obsession in our house.  My four year old took a book out of the library with them and instantly began speaking with an English accent... She's now using words like "mum" and refers to her dad as "Chah-lie"... I think I'm beginning to have an identity crisis... The clip below reminds me of my ladies and their shoe obsession.... we are always misplacing those sparkly shoes...
